Unit 1 · Cardiovascular System 5 hrs
The definition, etiopathogenesis, clinical manifestations and overview of management of ischemic heart disease, hypertension, heart failure, myocardial infarction, hyperlipidaemia and arrhythmia.
Unit 2 · Respiratory System 2 hrs
The definition, etiopathogenesis, clinical manifestations and management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Unit 3 · Renal System 3 hrs
Acute renal failure and chronic renal failure — their etiopathogenesis, clinical features and management — together with renal replacement therapy.
Unit 4 · Endocrine System 3 hrs
The etiopathogenesis, clinical manifestations and pharmacotherapeutic management of diabetes mellitus and of thyroid disorders.
Unit 5 · Nervous System 5 hrs
The etiopathogenesis, clinical manifestations and management of epilepsy, stroke and parkinsonism.
Unit 6 · Gastrointestinal System 2 hrs
The etiopathogenesis, clinical features and management of peptic ulcer disease and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease.
Unit 7 · Diseases of Bones and Joints 3 hrs
The etiopathogenesis, clinical manifestations and pharmacotherapy of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
Unit 8 · Infectious Diseases 4 hrs
The etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation and treatment of tuberculosis, pneumonia, urinary-tract infection, malaria and HIV.
Unit 9 · Haematological Diseases 3 hrs
The classification, etiopathogenesis, clinical features and management of the anaemias.
