Full syllabus — Section 8

  • Systems of linear equations: direct methods (Gaussian elimination, LU, Cholesky) and iterative methods (Gauss–Seidel, Jacobi) with convergence
  • Numerical solution of nonlinear equations: bisection, secant, Newton–Raphson, fixed-point iteration
  • Interpolation: Lagrange and Newton forms; error in polynomial interpolation
  • Numerical differentiation & integration (trapezoidal, Simpson, Newton–Cotes, composite rules); numerical solution of IVPs (Euler, RK-2)
